HOW & WHY

The Story of the Fórsa Series

"The best timepieces are inspired but they shouldn’t necessarily be defined by their inspiration"

For many years, Stephen McGonigle, watchmaker and owner at McGonigle Watches, dreamt of creating a timepiece that could bring two of his passions together, watchmaking and the wonderful sport of rugby. The launch of this new brand MAGON and the creation of the Fórsa series, is the realisation of that dream.

THE DESIGN

As with any work of passion, lack of inspiration was never going to be an issue. Using the that inspiration to create a balanced design, desirable to a broad spectrum of watch enthusiast was the real challenge.

LOOK CLOSELY

The sub-dials

The idea for the shape is obvious but it also compliments the shape of the tonneau case.

The Strap

Original, striking and practical. The rugby dimples are inspired

The Buckle

Even the buckle follows the same curves as a rugby ball

Chronograph Pushers

Again, the shape is obvious but it works really well with the case.

The Strap (Back)

To reduce the risk of perspiration, the back of the strap is designed to let air circulate between the wrist and the skin. Does this pattern remind you of anything?

The Case

The outer curves of the case are identical to that of a rugby ball
